Great things to do in Avon by the Sea, NJ.  And not just in the summer months!  The town of Avon by the Sea has a fabulous ice skating rink located just west of Main Street on Washington Avenue. The Avon Pond was started by a group of local Avon and Belmar residents who wanted a place to skate and play ice hockey. It has turned out to be such a great addition to our town. It is a fabulous way to enjoy an afternoon of ice skating. Season badges are $40 and are available at Avon borough hall. Generally the rink’s operation is weather dependent, and  is generally in operation from December until March, or as long as it stays cold. Free Skate is from 11:00 am until 3:30 pm on weekends and there is also a weekday schedule. If you are interested in playing Ice Hockey, check out the schedule below.
The Avon Pond is funded by the sales of skate badges, local business purchasing banners in the rink, and by Avon Turkey Trot 5 K run, which has now become an annual Tradition Thanksgiving morning.  It is through the dedication of its founders and it’s volunteers that we are able to enjoy the Avon Pond.
