Halloween Fun for Everyone

With Halloween right around the corner, it is that time of year to get spooked at every turn and the following list is sure to make that happen. For minimal admission fees, you can take a hayride, learn about history, take a walking tour to find ghosts, or take a journey through time while getting scared! Whether you are young, old, single, married, kids, or not, there is a scare level and activity for your preferences.

Haunted Allaire!

The Historic Village at Allaire is holding haunted hayrides and a spooky village. With a new route and almost 20 different scenes, you are guaranteed to be spooked! After the hayride you are welcomed into the grounds where there will be ghosts, ghouls, and monsters waiting. Some activities in the village will include storytelling at the chapel, fortune-telling at the Manager’s House, legendary spirits at the Carriage House, and seasonal treats at the General Store. Tickets purchases are required in advance are cost $15 for adults, children 12 and under $10. This will be held October 27, 2018 from 6pm-9pm. Strauss Mansion!

Join the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society for an expanded paranormal investigation tour. This year the tour is longer and expanded as the hunt for ghosts is now 90 minutes. The hands-on tour includes stories and visual evidence of real paranormal activity throughout the 21-room mansion. The lights will be off and you can bring you own equipment or use some of theirs. It is recommended that groups with children attend the 6pm tour. Admission is $15 per person. Friday October 26th tours, 6pm, 7:30pm, 9pm. 10:30pm. Saturday October 27th tours,  6pm, 7:30pm, 9pm. 10:30pm.

Chill: A Festival of Scary Shorts!

The Jersey Shore Arts Center is holding a festival of spooky short films. The Jersey Shore Arts Center is located at 66 South Main Street in Ocean Grove. Program A is on Friday October 26th at 8pm and Saturday October 27th at 4pm. Program B is showing on Saturday the 27th at 8pm and Sunday October 28th at 2pm. Hazlet House of Horrors!

The Hazlet House of Horrors  is hosted by Hazlet Recreation and the Raritan High School Performing Arts Department from October 27th to the 29th at the Cullen center. It will be from 7pm-10pm with 7pm-8pm being suggested for children. There will be 6 rooms of alarming scares, tricks, and treats. This is a free event but every attendee is asked and encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit Hazlet Townships Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Cullen center is located at 1776 Union Avenue, Hazlet, NJ, 07730.

Red Bank Ghost Tour!

Take a lantern-lit tour of Red Bank while your tour guide tells tales of the historic town. The stories consist of bone-chilling details of the haunted history. Red Bank tours run on Friday nights from August-October.  The tours meet in front of the Dublin House, 30 Monmouth Street, Red Bank. Ticket sales start at 8pm, tours leave at 8:30, and tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12.

Camp Evans Base of Terror!

Take a 1/2 mile walk through the 100-year-old Army Base while being scared at every turn. Camp Evans Base of Terror is a fundraiser for the InfoAge Science Center and to preserve the grounds of a National Historic Landmark. Be terrified every Friday and Saturday in October from 7pm-11pm. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for Police/EMT/Fire/Military with valid ID. It is recommended for ages 12 and up. Camp Evans is located at 2201 Marconi Road, Wall Township, NJ.
