With autumn officially started, October has many fall related events happening at the shore. This weekend features many festivals and events at the shore. Ranging from food trucks to zombie walks, this first weekend in October has a lot to do for people of all ages.

Belmar October Fest
On Sunday, October 8th, Belmar will have an Octoberfest, based off the German Oktoberfest. There will be authentic German food, a beer garden, pumpkin decorating, and Oompah bands. 95.9 The WRAT will be hosting a Stein Contest at 2 pm. It’s free admission and parking for all who attend.

TRUCKerton Hard Cider Fest
Tuckerton will be hosting a food truck and hard cider festival on October 7th. There will be ten food trucks with a variety of different foods. In addition to the vast selection of beer and hard cider they will have on tap, the festival will also be featuring Pinelands Brewing Company. There will also be fall activities such as The Revenge of the Jersey Devil Hayride.

Avon Elementary Harvest Evening
Avon Elementary is having a fundraiser Saturday, October 7th. There will be games, music, prizes, and activities to do for everyone. All the proceeds of Harvest Evening go to the funding of their school.

Asbury Park Zombie Walk
The 10th Annual Zombie Walk will happen once again in Asbury on the first Saturday in October. Anyone can come down and dress as a zombie, as long as they stay in character. There will be a zombie costume contest to see who dressed the best like a zombie. And the band Morricone Youth will be performing the original soundtrack to Night of the Living Dead.
